Rudolph Edward Bradley Sr.

Rudolph Edward Bradley, Sr., affectionately known as “Rudy,” departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 21, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, one of five children born to the late Isaiah Bradley Sr. and Geneva Bradley (née Moore). Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Isaiah “Chucky” Bradley Jr. He was the second-born of a special set of identical twins. As a child, Rudy cherished the simple joys of life—playing outside with his siblings and neighborhood friends. He received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Edmondson Westside Senior High School, Class of 1968. During his school years, Rudy was active in sports, playing freshman basketball and junior varsity football. At just 13 years old, Rudy confidently told his mother that he had met the girl he was going to marry. True to his word, on February 2, 1968, he wed his lifelong love, Charlene Patricia Wilson. From this beautiful union came two children: RaShaun and Jay. Their marriage of 57 years stood as a shining example of love, faith, grace, and forgiveness—a love supreme. Rudy joined Bethel AME Church in 1990 under the leadership of Bishop Frank Reid III. In later years, before his health prevented regular attendance, he was a member of New Psalmist Baptist Church, under Bishop Walter Thomas Sr. Following high school, Rudy began his career at American Smelting Inc. In 1971, he joined the CSX Chessie Systems, B&O Railroad, where he worked diligently for 32 years until his retirement in 2003. Known for his impeccable sense of style, Rudy believed there was no such thing as being overdressed. In high school, he was recognized for his polished Florsheim shoes, sharp Swedish knit slacks, and crisp, starched white shirts. His radiant smile could light up any room, and even throughout his illness, he was rarely seen without it. Ever the jokester, Rudy brought joy to everyone he encountered with his humor and love for life. Rudy deeply valued family. He found great happiness in spending time with his great-nieces and nephews, proudly watching them grow. A passionate sports fan, he loved watching games and could often be found on the phone with his twin brother, Randolph, cheering on the Ravens or the Orioles.
