“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…” II Timothy 4:7 Obituary Michael Doran Kiah, the oldest child born to Luther R. Kiah and Doris L. Kiah, was born February 29, 1952, in Washington, DC. He attended elementary and high school in Washington, DC, and later graduated from Prince George’s Community College in Largo, MD. On July 3, 2004, Michael was united in holy matrimony to Wanda Gerald. Michael and his devoted wife created a beautiful home together in Dacula, GA. Michael started his work career as an auto body serviceman. In the early 1980’s, he began his career in computer technology. He was employed as a Technical Implementation Specialist with Pearson Digital Learning until his death. In January 2011, Michael received the Regional Engineer of the Year Award. Michael loved the church. He began his spiritual journey from birth at Park Road Community Church. He grew more in the faith as a member of Interdenomina-tional Ebenezer Christian Church where he was mentored by the late Rev. Ruth Vaughn. It is there that he became saved and where he was ordained as a deacon. While residing in Georgia, he headed the education ministry at Word of God Christian Center. At the time God called him, Michael was an Elder and teacher at Kingdom of God Learning Center in Duluth, GA. Michael loved his family. He doted on his parents, brother and sister and had one surviving aunt for whom he had great affection. He was blessed to be the father of six beautiful children from previous marriages. They adored him, and he consistently showed them unconditional love and provided moral support and spiritual guidance. In his early years, Michael loved auto racing and aspired to build his own car. In his later years, he continued his love for fast cars but also fulfilled his dream of becoming a private pilot. As a pilot, he was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Its Young Eagles program presented Michael with an award for his voluntary work involving flying children around Gwinnett County to introduce them to aviation. On Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, GA, God called his servant to rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Wanda Gerald Kiah; loving mother, Doris L. Kiah; six children, Michelle, Michonne Pointer (Leroy), Monica, Lurandrew (Latoya), Yvette Searight (Jamie), and Joshica; one brother, Gregory Alden; one sister, Benita Denise; five grandchildren, Andre’, James, Tiger, Taylor and Laylawne; one aunt, Alyce Payne; loving mother-in-law, Delaware Gerald; a devoted brother-in-law, Steven Gerald; three sisters-in-law, DelResia Brand (Terry), Leonora Brock and Sheri Gerald; one nephew, Flemmon Wright, Jr. (Tomekia); one niece, Adrianne Marvrette; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins; his best friend, Andre Daniels, and a host of caring friends. Preceding him in death was his father, Luther R. Kiah, and one niece, Arnisha Akintunde.
