Iyabo Oluwafunmilayo Fashola

Education and Early Life Mrs. Iyabo Oluwafunmilayo Fashola was born on January 19,1959, in the Eastern Region of Accra, Ghana. She hailed from Ikirun in Ifelodun_-Boripe Local Government Are, Osun State, located in the South_ Western part of Nigeria. Mrs. Fashola was born to a family of Gbadamosi where she was one of five siblings. Her beloved parents, Alhaji Jimoh Gbadamosi and Mrs. Aishat Gbadamosi, have both passed on. She began her formal education in Ghana, attending Acra Girls’ Secondary School, where she laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to learning and service. Before relocating to the United States, she resided in Lagos, Nigeria, where she also got married and was blessed with children. Marriage, Family Life & Faith Mrs. Fashola was married to her beloved husband Mr. Oyeyemi Kilani Fashola, until his passing on June 26,1997. After his demise, she dedicated her life wholeheartedly to the care, guidance, and protection of their children, shielding them from negative external influences and ensuring their well-being. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Lateef Adekunle Fashola, Felicia Imoleayo Shittu, and Dr. Modinat Oluwatoyin Fagberno. Born into a Muslim family and married to a Muslim husband, Mrs. Fashola later experienced a profound spiritual transformation when she encountered “the God of suddenly” and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Personal Savior. From that moment, she remained steadfast in her Christian faith and never looked back. She was a devoted and active and active member of Winners Chapel International, Canaanland Ota, where she served faithfully for many years. She later relocated to the United State where she continued her faithful service to God at Winners Chapel International, Maryland and later Winners Chapel International, Baltimore where she served in various service units. Career and Public Service A dedicated civil servant, Mrs. Fashola worked with the Lagos State Government for 35 years, serving diligently and contributing immensely to public administration. She worked at the Ministry of Finance, Board of Internal Revenue, and Ministry of Information and Strategy until her retirement. Her professionalism, discipline, and commitment to excellence earned her the respect of colleagues and superiors alike. She retired honorably in 2015. Relocation and Continued Service Though she frequently visited the United States over the years, Mrs. Fashola eventually relocated permanently in 2015 and became a U.S. citizen in February 2025. She also worked at Compassionate Home health Care and Absolute Care and Supports. Legacy Mrs. Fashola was known for her kindness, love, generosity, and unwavering love for God and others. She touched countless lives with her warmth, compassion, and selflessness. It lives in every person she touched, every life she uplifted, and every heart she inspired. She taught people that love is the greatest gift you can give, and that giving isn’t about having much- it’s about having a hearty that cares. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will deeply miss her constant love, devotion and enduring faith.
