Emmeline I. Herbert

Emmeline EmmieIsabel Herbert was born on January 9, 1920 in St. James, Trinidad, West Indies. She was the daughter of the late Beatrice Emily Maud Duggan-Herbert and Thomas Herbert. She immigrated to the USA in 1967 to better herself and became a U.S. citizen in 1980. She worked in the Washington area for a number of years. After retiring from the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington she moved to Palm Beach for a few years, but then returned to Washington to be closer to her family. In 2003 as her health began to deteriorate she went to reside at Randolph Hills Nursing Center, where she was cared for until her death. Her beauty and strength has been an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her three daughters, Grace Goddard of Trinidad, Patricia Herbert and Carollyn Herbert-Gibson of Maryland; seven grand children - Leslie Ann Goddard-Davidson, Glenn Goddard, Gillian Goddard-Benjamin, Nicholas Goddard, Gail Goddard-Lewis, Jeneia Gibson, Nerea Gibson; two sons-in-laws, Joseph Goddard and Dave Gibson; 11 great-grand children ? Joelle, Makela, Julien, Kawemina, Tai, Chynenne, Zurie, Carmelo, Ari, Efua, Miles and a host of friends. ALL WITHIN HIS PLAN Author Unknown Sometimes things happen we don?t understand And we begin to question why? Heartache, pain, disappointment and sorrow Just do not pass us by. Even though we?re committed to God And led by His own hand Trouble and trials still come our way And it?s all within His plan. Our Saviour Himself faced hardship on earth As He was tempted, tested and tried He suffered great pain and agony And on the old rugged cross He died. But He arose victorious over sin Death and the grave And He lives forever Our souls to save. So, when troublesome times come And we have burdens to bear Let us always remember our Lord is there To comfort, strengthen and be our guide. As we follow His word And in Him abide?. And where we can?t trace Him In what comes our way. Let us simply trust Him As we walk each day Knowing He?s fully in control. Working all things out For the good of our soul Then as we?re tempted to question why? When things happened we don?t understand. Let us on Him completely rely Knowing all is within His Plan.
