Carolyn Joyce Williams

Carolyn Joyce Williams was born to the late Majorie Brown and James Bryant on October 3, 1937 in Washington, North Carolina. She began her education in the North Carolina school system and upon moving to Bronx, New York completed her schooling and received her diploma from Morris High School in 1958. Carolyn had her first child, Rickey Darnell Bryant, February 10, 1953 in Washington, North Carolina. Moving on to bigger and better things, Carolyn moved from New York to Washington, DC where her second son, the late Darryl Orlando Brown, was born on August 19, 1960. She began working at Providence Hospital in 1962 in the Infant Nursery and was later promoted to Environmental Control Technician ECT in the Labor and Delivery department. She was employed at Providence for forty-five years and had received various and numerous honors and awards. She was planning to retire after her forty-sixth year to work part-time when God called her home. Carolyn was a woman of the Lord and attended church as regularly as possible - work schedule permitting. She was a member of Isle of Patmos Baptist Church for several years before attending All Nations Baptist Church. Finally she joined the church family of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church which she attended until her death. One thing is certain, she loved to read all types of bibles which she owned and could be found at the Union Station food court reading with her famous cup of coffee. She loved to shop at J. C. Penney and Kmart and was often found at one of these stores as well. Carolyn was a wonderful, kind-hearted person who would extend her hand to help anyone in any way that she could. She was loved by many. She leaves to cherish her memory her elder son, Rickey D. Bryant; grandsons, Darryl Anthony Stover, Rickey Bryant, Aaron Kimbrough and Blair W. Bryant; daughter-in-law, Betty G. Bryant; her ?other daughter? Pamela Pam D. Stover and half-sister, Mary E. Douglas and a host of dear, loving and special friends and colleagues.
