Carl D. White, Jr.

Carl Dennis White, Jr, was born January 3, 1950 in Washington D.C. to the late Carl D White, Sr and Katherine V. Chapman. Carl education was inclusive of the District of Columbia School System and St Emma’s Military Academy, Powatan Virginia. He graduated from Northwestern high school class of 1967 in Hyattsville, Maryland. Carl is a Vietnam veteran, who enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in August 1968. While serving, Carl was wounded in combat and received medals for his service which included the Purple Heart and bronze Star. Carl was employed at the United States Court House and later the United States Post Office, later retiring after thirty-seven years of government service in 2007. Carl committed himself to Christ at an early age. He was an active servant and served on the Usher board. After marrying, his wife Robin of twenty-four years, he attended the Church of Christ in Maryland and while living in Georgia for ten years he attended the Church of Christ in Hephzibah Georgia as well. After retirement, Carl loved watching movies and going to museums, traveling, biking, swimming, fishing all night long and teaching the grandboys how to fish as well. Carl’s favorite pass time was watching sports. His favorite sport to watch was football, he was an avid Washington Redskins (Commanders) fan. During the holidays the family gatherings the family looked forward to his collard’s greens which was one of his specialties. He loved fashions, “putting it on”, as the younger generation says. He loved listening to music and dancing. Carl was an avid vehicle collector of model cars. He spent hours waxing and cleaning his vehicles always, his vehicles were always immaculate. One of his true loves has four paws, and his best friend is his beloved, “April” his favorite pet, his side chic. Carl transitioned on March 30, 2024, with his devoted wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Tinner and his brother Richard Clinton, III., He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Robin, daughter LaSean, two grandsons, Stanley, and Shawn, his sister Beatrice (Howard), mother-in- law, Carolyn Dreher, a brother-in-law, Melvin Dreher, three sisters-in-law, Carletta Dreher, Willetta Dreher, and Kim Dreher, a devoted niece Kala McIlwain, nephew Bobby Owens, cousins Sherry, Melissa, Sheila and Tony Bell a host of several other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends also survive.
