Beverly Gause

BEVERLY WYEMIA BROWN GAUSE, a queen, was born on April 15, 1954. She was the eldest child born to the late James Richard Brown Sr. and Shirley Beatrice Brown. Beverly transitioned to glory on February 14, 2026 surrounded by her family just as she wanted. Beverly, affectionately known as “Emie,” by her family and close friends, was an outgoing, fun-loving life of the party. Emie has two beautiful children Monisha Mitchell and Lewis Mitchell Jr. They were the love of her life. She always supported them in whatever they did. She made sure she kept a close eye on them requiring their locations on at all times. Beverly gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord. On April 26, 1996 she married the love of her life Len Earl Gause. When it came to their love, what was understood never needed to be explained. From this union, Beverly gained two bonus children, Dominick Gause and Shaquita Gause. She loved and supported them just as she did her own. Beverly received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She received her High School Diploma from Frederick Douglass High School in 1973. She went on to further her education at the Baltimore City Community College earning her certificate in nursing. Beverly started working as a Cook at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore in 1987. There she received the nickname “Chuckie” from her work family. In 2004 she attended Sojourner Douglas College where she received her certificate in Food Nutrition Management. Beverly then became a Manager at UMMC and retired from there in 2019. After 4 years of retirement, she returned for two more years of service. Beverly leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Len Earl Gause; two children, Monisha Mitchell and Lewis Mitchell Jr.; two stepchildren, Dominick Gause and Shaquita Gause; goddaughter, Keona Wilson; five grandchildren, Eric Thompson Jr., Sawahya Linton, Sawad Linton Jr., Damond Wallace Jr. and Deziah Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sandra (Victor) Dennis, Brenda Bryant and Betty Brown; two brothers, Anthony Holden and James Brown Jr.; two nieces, Tia Taylor and Lakia (Dana) Crocket; one favorite handsome nephew, Andre Lumpkin Jr; aunt for whom she was named, Wyemia Grimes; and a host of great- nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend, Felecia Harrison; childhood family; The Bookers; and father of her children, Lewis Mitchell Sr.
