Betty Rene Williams

Betty Rene Davis Williams transitioned over from Washington, D.C. Georgetown University Hospital on Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was the first born of Edward and Florine Davis of Mineral, VA, who both preceded her in death. Also gone on before her were five siblings: Roy, Julia Mae, Carl, Sammy Davis and Trudy Davis Holt. Betty attended Elementary and High Schools in Louisa County, VA. In her senior year she met the love of her life, Rudolph Williams. They wed on December 7, 1957 and remained a united force for almost 60 years, until her passing. Out of this union their daughter Linda was born. Betty, also affectionately called “Sweetheart, Ma and Nana” (you know who called her that ), leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Rudolph of Suitland, MD; daughter Linda Snowden of Ft. Washington, MD; three grandkids- David of Cheltenham, MD, Brandon and Leah of Ft. Washington, MD, (her heart and soul!); one sister Perlean Medlock of Oxon Hill, MD; two sisters-in-law- Lucy Davis of Spotsylvania, VA and Loretta Davis of Louisa, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty had several hobbies. She built birdhouses, and was an exceptional artist/painter. Her birdhouses were so beautifully designed and painted you didn’t want to put them outside. She also loved playing Bid Whist. Most visits or family gathering to their home ended with a game of cards. She loved doing anything for her family and others so you had to indulge her. Her sweet potato pies were often fought over, everyone wanted one to take home (Patti Pies can’t touch it). Her talents were big, her heart was huge, and her absence will be immeasurable. The Family Rudolph and Linda want you to know that: To be in God’s keeping is surly a blessing. For though life is sometimes dark and distressing, no day is too dark and no burden too great that God in His love cannot penetrate. David, Brandon and Leah want you to know: We will miss you, we will always love you and we will forever hold on to the beautiful memories you gave us all. Perlean (Peggy) wants you to know: I will be thinking about you, missing you and having a sense of profound thankfulness for having known you all my life. We Love You.
