Anna Mae Clark

LIFE JOURNEY OF ANNA DENSON CLARK Anna Mae Denson was born on May 3,1942 in Cordele, Georgia, beginning her life’s journey. She was the second born child to Josie Idlett Denson and Otha Denson, Sr. She attended Americus and Sumter County public schools. Upon graduation, Anna chose to continue her education at Albany State University. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration and shortly therafter, set out to carve her own path. After college, Anna moved to Atlanta to begin executing and actualizing her career goals. She began working as an accountant and quickly climbed the ranks to become Vice President of Corporate Accounts in the Factoring Division at Suntrust Bank, later retiring as a top executive of her division. After retirement, Anna actively chose to dedicate her time to volunteerism. She shared her knowledge and expertise by volunteering in Hyatt Hotels Corporate Office and later for a number of years at Habitat for Humanity. During her volunteer tenure at Habitat, she received the esteemed Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedicated service. From an early age, she attended Beulah Land Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia and was later baptized at New Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Americus, Ga. She loved traditional hymns that she’d learned as a child. Her home church was West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where she faithfully served as chair of Deaconess Board and a member of the Missionary Circle. Anna loved her family and had a deep sense of family values. She lent her accounting skills and business acumen to uphold her family legacy. She managed the family rental properties. She also took pride in being able to provide various levels of support to aid and assist family members. Anna enjoyed gardening, cooking and travel. She was best known for her German Chocolate Cake, Southern-style Chicken Dressing, Sour Cream Pound Cake and Sweet Potato Pies. Each year, she expanded her horizons by taking luxury cruises and trips to exciting destinations that sparked her interest. As her journey has now transitioned, she leaves memories that will be forever cherished in the hearts of: her sisters, Jeraldine Monroe and Cassandra (Clyde) Fleet all of Silver Spring, Maryland; her brother, Otha Denson, Jr., Laurel, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends. She was previously married to Curtis Clark. She also leaves heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers and others who provided care, love, support and fun times during her golden years.
