Harold B. James

Harold Bozie James, affectionately known as “Chucky“, was born on December 9, 1955 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Willie T. James Sr. and Mildred L. James. He departed this life suddenly on February 9, 2022. Chucky spent his childhood in the Hampton and Newport News areas of Virginia. He graduated from Huntington High School in Newport News Virginia where he set a track record that was not broken for 10 years. After graduating, he served in the United States Army from 1973 until 1976, ultimately settling in Washington DC after being honorably discharged from active duty. Chucky was proceeded in death by his father Willie. T James Sr., brothers Willie T. (“Dwight”) James Jr. and Olander R. (“Ricky”) James Sr., and son Sherrod D. James. He is survived by his mother Mildred L. James of Maryland; daughters Zianni James of Washington DC and LaToya James of Massachusetts; son Derrick James of Virginia; grandson Aaron McLeod of South Carolina; granddaughter Aniya James of Washington, DC; brothers George James (Shirley) and Daniel James (Jackie) of Maryland, and David James (Benita) of Washington DC; sisters Mildred Mason (George) and Lucille Small (Raymond) of Maryland, Bertha Bowles (Lee) of Arizona, and Susan Darden (Glenn) and Michelle Blowe (Jeffrey) of Virginia; as well has a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
