Edward Bush, Sr was born December 15, 1932, in Ridgeway, South Carolina. He departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2022. He goes home to be with his parents, Hariel and Mary Lou Bush, his wife Addie Mae Bush and his favorite Sis-n-love Carrie Lou Wingfield. Eddie as everyone called him was educated in a small town in South Carolina. Eddie moved to the big city of Washington D.C. when he was 14 years old and graduated from Dunbar High School. Eddie served in the Army branch of the military. He fought in the Korean war and talked about his travels to Germany all the time. Upon returning, Eddie worked as a special police officer for Pepco where he retired after 30 years of employment. Eddie loved all things sweet. You could always find cakes, pies and a dish filled with all types of candy on the dining room table. He also loved a good meatball and made the best grits and mashed potatoes. Eddie will always be remembered as a man who loved his family. You could tell by the collection of pictures he kept of everyone over the years. He could always be found walking through his building complex, talking to different people. Eddie was an award-winning bowler for many years. He was loved and will always be loved by his family, neighbors and friends. Eddie leaves to cherish his son Edward (Shellie) Jr., 9 grandchildren; Latrice, Renechia; Shamika, Harold, Devonne, Harvey, Erika, Lamont and Demiko; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces Hazel and Evelyn. A host of other great-nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, neighbors and friends.
