William Daniel Pace

William Daniel "Mickey/Bill" Pace was born in Baltimore, MD, to Roosevelt and Sis. Willie Earlia Pace, and was the fourth of four siblings: Elmer, Steve, and Jean. He graduated from Carver Vocational High School and later served honorably in the United States Airforce, where he was recognized as “Airman of the Month. After his military service, Mickey worked at Southwestern Bell (AT&T) as a Machine operator. Over his career, he earned numeous promotions and retired with honor. Mickey met his beloved Teresa Viola "Tweedy/Tweet" Ford, at Carver and from Rehoboth Church of God In Christ Jesus, Apostolic, where his mother and her grandmother brought them up under the watchful eyes of Bishop Randolph A. Carr. Their love blossomed and they were married. They welcomed their first child, Joel, and later their daughters, LaReisa (“Reesie”) and Nenah (“Neet”). Though Mickey and Tweedy eventually lived separately, they maintained a strong bond and co-parented with love and respect, always putting their children first. Whenever one of them visited from out of town, the other made room for them in their home, recognizing that their friendship and family unity were more important than their differences. Bowling was one of Mickey’s great passions, even into his 90’s, even bowling professionally. He met the Garner family at the bowling alley, forming a lifelong bond with David Sr., Mary and their children, David jr. and Lisa. The Garners welcomed Mickey into their home where he lived for many years and was called “Uncle Mickey.” The families shared vacations, outings, and time at the bowling alley with their children , who grew up referring t each other as cousins. Mickey was also a devoted sports fan, cheering faithfully for the Baltimore Colts and later the Ravens. He loved being part of his family’s lives participating in their little leagues and found joy in simple moments, such as sharing meals, playing music, and making others laugh with his quick wit and humor. After retiring, Mickey moved to Richmond, VA, and later to Las Vegas, NV, where he purchased a spacious home to welcome family and trends. Tweedy even lived with him while awaiting senior housing in Texas. Mickey loved working as a floor Tech at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, until he could no longer drive. In 2022, following Tweet's passing, at the age of 91, Mickey visited his son Joel in Dallas, TX, where he recommtted his life to Christ, at Grace and Truth Apostolic Faith church, where Joel pastors. Mickey repented, cried out to thre Lord, and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his sins and with stammering lips and another tongue he was born again, of the water and of the spirit. In October 2024, Mickey returned to Baltimore due to declining health. His niece, Dorcas, RN, was a tremendous help to his children, locating resources and providing support during Mickey’s final days. Despite frequent hospitalizations and rehabilitation, he maintained his humor, music, and faith. He loved singing hymns, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends. On December 19, 2024, at 11:57 AM, Mickey peacefully transitioned to rest in the Lord, at the age of 93. Mickey’s Legacy Mickey will always be remembered for his humor, humility, and love. He brought joy to others with sayings like “What in the name of blazes?!” and “…knock the stew out of you!” And “…lying sacka boomerang”. Despite life’s challenges, he maintained a fun-loving, easygoing personality, allowing his faith to guide him every step of the way. Survived by: Sister-in-law Pearl (Steve), brother-in-law Jim, son Joel Sr. (Eva), daughters LaReisa (Anthony I) and Nenah (Greg). Grandchildren: Anthony II (Jenn), Joel Jr. (Star), Chad Sr. (Kayla), Jared, Elissa (Arsenio), Kendall, Taylor, Orlando, and Gershom (Aliesha), Great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Chad Jr., Janelle, Moriah, Noah, and Nazaiah. He is also suvived by nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends who will always remember his warmth, humor, and unwavering faith.
