William Jennings, Jr.

William Jennings, Jr. was born April 24, 1947 to the late Dessie Mae Allison and William Jennings, Sr. in Orange County, North Carolina. At the passing of his mother, he was raised in the loving home of his aunt and uncle, Ira and Mildred Ellison. William was educated in the public school system, graduating in 1965 from Central High School in Hillsborough, North Carolina. In 1966 he enlisted in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He then relocated to Maryland, working for Safeway Foods. In 1970 William and Victoria Simpson were married, and from that union two daughters, Trina and Trevia were born. For seventeen years he worked at United Parcel Service, starting as a Delivery Driver and working his way to Preload Supervisor. In 1985 William and Teresa Wheelous were married, and from that union one son, William, III was born. Until his death he was employed at Lason as the Transportation/ Warehouse Manager and as a parking supervisor at FedEx Field. William enjoyed NASCAR racing and was one of the Washington Redskins? biggest fans. Watching old westerns and army movies was one of his favorite pastimes. He was a very unique person because he made you love him and hate him at the same time. You never forgot him, and he would always make you laugh. He was known as the jokester of the family. On weekends he and William would spend free time eating pies made by his sister and joking with his brother-in-law. William was a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and treasured friend; he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his adopted mother, Mildred Teacher Ellison; adopted brother, Ira Richard Ellison and daughter, Karmen Chantel Taborn. He leaves to cherish his memory adopted father, Ira Pop Ellison, Hillsborough, North Carolina; two daughters, Trina Murphy husband-Wayne, Atlanta, Georgia; Trevia Spriggs husband-Gordon, Silver Spring, Maryland; one son, William M. Jennings, III, Columbia, Maryland; two sisters, Jannette Hester husband-Detroy, Capitol Heights, Maryland and Mae Forrester Allison, Durham, North Carolina; one brother, Albert Allison wife-Shirnette, Capitol Heights, Maryland; adopted sisters, Eula ClydeCoon Jones and Fanny Mae Ellison, both of Hillsborough, North Carolina; adoptive brother, Stuart wife-Cathy Ellison, Sr., Capitol Heights, Maryland; two grandchildren, Jasmine DeAnna and Jadyn Victoria Murphy; adopted daughter, Miss Quiana Keeves, Glenarden, Maryland; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
