Paul Thomas Doyle

Our bright and shining star was born in Hartford, Connecticut on August 26, 1954 to the late Joseph and Doris (Gittens) Doyle. Over his life of 68 years, he was a loving husband, father, brother, PaPa, neighbor and friend. He was a gentle giant with a great heart and mind. Paul suddenly departed this life on the morning of November 2, 2022. While we were not prepared for his unexpected departure, his bright star continues to shine through his impact on our lives. Paul was educated in the Hartford Public School system in Hartford, Connecticut. He matriculated to North Carolina A&T University where he majored in Information Technology. While at North Carolina A&T, he was introduced to the love of his life, Brenda (Culbreth) Doyle. They quickly fell in love, dating only a year before marrying on November 29, 1975. Together, they moved to Washington, D.C. to start his career at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a Scientific Software Developer. During the course of his over 40 year career, Paul worked as a Systems Analyst Contractor at numerous organizations such as: the FDIC, Boeing Computer Services, MCI, United States Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. At the beginning of 2020, Paul began working at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Portfolio Management Division. In this capacity, he served as the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act Team Lead. He led numerous critical projects and received Bronze awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the EPA’s mission. Most of all, he was beloved by his leadership and his team members. Everyone who interacted with him complimented that he was a most professional gentleman with great technical skills. Paul remained committed to his professional endeavors while still finding time for family, friends, and hobbies. Through the union of Paul and Brenda, they welcomed one son, Jason Sharif and adopted and raised Paul’s sister's daughter, Julienne. In his freetime, Paul enjoyed cooking, trying new restaurants and cuisines, traveling, researching any and all topics, and playing with his beloved grandchildren, Juliana and Jackson. One of his fondest activities was playing at the beach with his grandchildren in Martha’s Vineyard and Rehoboth Beach each summer. Paul was a strong believer in the importance of increasing intellectual knowledge through the consumption of written material, and he never hesitated to share his knowledge to enrich the lives of others. He enjoyed watching suspense drama filled TV and basketball. He was a lover of jazz music, often attending jazz festivals to enjoy the music, people, and culture. Paul was known as a no nonsense kind of man, but at the same time, a gentle man with a great sense of humor. He was humble, had the highest integrity, was kind to everyone, and was generous with his time in service to others. Cherishing his legacy are his devoted wife of 46 years, Brenda; his son, Jason and his daughter, Julienne Vinson (Jamel); his dear grandchildren, Juliana and Jackson Vinson; two brothers, James Doyle (Pamela) and Alan Doyle (Dawn); one sister, Dawn Parks; goddaughter, Marisa Fountain; godson, Billy Bennet; three brother in- laws, George Culbreth (Beverly), Kenneth Culbreth (Christine), and Leonard Culbreth; and a hosts of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The life of Paul Thomas Doyle will always be celebrated as he was a man who learned how to live without regret, love everyone as God loves us, and enjoy all that life has to offer.
