Pamela Dargan Nixon Douglas

MRS. PAMELA “PAM” ANNE DARGAN DOUGLAS was born on May 2, 1963 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She departed this earthly life on April 11, 2024 at her home in Pikesville, Maryland, where she lived with her adoring husband, John Douglas, and son, Brandon Nixon. Pam was the youngest child of Carl Nathaniel Dargan and Annie Herbin Dargan and sister to her older brother, Anthony “Tony” Dargan, whom she adored. Pam’s parents often told her that she was their “miracle child” because doctors had said that her mom could not have more children. Pam arrived seven years after her brother, Tony, and our world became that much brighter. Pam spent her childhood in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she attended private elementary and middle schools and eventually attended the local high school, Western Branch High School. In true Pam style, she was a very active high school honor roll student. She played the flute in the marching band, ran track, and was a cheerleader for the Western Branch sports teams. Outside of school, Pam and her family were dedicated members of the Zion Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. Anyone who knew Pam, knows that her Christian faith was at the core of her existence. Pam dedicated her life to serving God, which all began with her accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior at the Zion Baptist Church as the Dargan family stood witness. She continued serving her beloved Zion Baptist Church until the start of her adult life. Pam graduated in 1985 from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville with a dual degree in English and Communications. While at the university, Pam became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Pam loved the sorority and truly cherished returning to the university for reunions with her sorority sisters. During her time at UVA, Pam also met her college sweetheart, whom she later married. That union produced “the twins,” Brandon and Morgan, the two loves of Pam’s life. After college, Pam moved to Columbia, Maryland, where she raised her family. In May 1992, Pam received a master’s in business from the University of Maryland at College Park. After receiving her MBA, Pam worked in product management at several companies, including Verizon, T. Rowe Price and her current company, Allegis Global Solutions. For over 21 years, Pam and “the twins” were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Savage. While at Savage, Pam served as the Evangelism and Admission Director. In this role, Pam used her program management skills to oversee Vacation Bible School, the Bread of Life food pantry, and the live Nativity scene known as “Walk of Bethlehem.” She also served as Youth Director and as a young adult Bible study teacher. Pam lived her life serving God through her thoughts, words, and deeds. Therefore, it is not surprising that Pam found love again, with John Douglas through their shared love of Christ. Pam and John were married in May 2017, basing their holy matrimony on their Christian faith and love for God. In 2020, John and Pam relocated to Pikesville, Maryland. Because of this move, they decided to join a church closer to their home. In 2021, Pam and John became active members of the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown. Once again, in true Pam fashion, she jumped in and began serving the Lord and New Antioch. Pam actively worked with the Women’s Ministry and taught Vacation Bible School. On occasion, she also would teach young adult Bible study classes. Pam loved with her full heart the Lord and both her church families at First Baptist Church of Savage and New Antioch Baptist Church. Pamela Anne Dargan Douglas is predeceased by her parents, Carl Nathaniel Dargan and Annie Herbin Dargan, and her beloved brother, Anthony “Tony” Dargan, and his wife, Elvin Dargan. Pam leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving husband, John Douglas of Pikesville, Maryland and “the twins,” Brandon Nixon of Pikesville, Maryland and Morgan Nixon of Baltimore, Maryland. She also leaves behind her beloved aunt, Hazel Fitts; cousins, Robin Whitaker (Michael), Randi Fitts Claytor (Vernon), Raymond Fitts (Symea), Toi Wilson (George), Melony Belfiore (Erik), Vanita Bailey (Tony), Jewell Rowell (Robbin), and Cynthia McGill; her husband’s family, John A. Douglas III, Asha Douglas, Asha Holder Douglas, Luke Douglas and Miles Douglas; many adored family members and friends. Pam is now resting in perfect peace and harmony with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
