Orlando S Suber Sr.

Orlando S. Suber Sr. affectionately known as “Land” departed this earthly life peacefully, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Born to Eddie and Pauline Suber on September 25, 1943. Orlando was educated in the Newberry, South Carolina Public Schools system where he was popular and excelled in all sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. Orlando was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and brother-in law. He married the love of his life Barbara Jean Suber, in 1965. From their union, they were blessed with three children: Orlando Jr, Darrell, and Angela. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on April 17, 2023. He joined Antioch Baptist Church in 1979, under the leadership of the late Reverend William Thomas Jr, where he was baptized and served as an Adult Usher and Trustee for many years. Orlando was employed as a route salesman for the Wonder Bread Company for 30 plus years, and worked there until his retirement in 2012. He was a great provider for his family and loved his job. He was a kind man, who never met a stranger. He loved to talk to people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Anyone who knew him, “which seemed like everyone” knew he loved his family, and his family loved him. He was blessed to live 79 years on this side, and we know because he had a personal relationship with the Lord, that we will see him again. But until then we will love and miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Eddie and Pauline Suber, brother: David H. Suber, sisters: Gloria Ann Floyd, Dollie Elaine Suber and Eddie Mae Boyd, son: Darrell Suber, and grandson: Jamar Marcus Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife: Barbara Jean Suber, Cheltenham, MD, children: Orlando S. Suber Jr, Frisco, TX and Angela Suber, Cheltenham, MD; Daughter-In-Law: Robin Suber, Xenia, OH; 7 grandchildren: Darrell Suber II, Richmond, VA, Lashelle Telesha Moxley, Dayton, OH, Demitrius Lamar Suber, Alexandria, LA, Demesha Nicole Suber, Cincinnati, OH, Michael Cummings, Xenia, OH, Jarell Robinson, Xenia, OH; and Chelsea Ariel Suber, Xenia, OH. 16 great grandchildren; Mikael Suber, Taywoun Thompson, Destiny Fields-Suber, Shaniyah Johnson, Daron Suber, Darion Suber, Jerimiah Suber, Aniyah Wright, Carmi Lane, Teyshon Lane, Chay Lane, Lamar Suber, Jazlynn Suber, Shantelle Suber, Aminah Suber, DeAnna Davis, Yah Kov Suber, Yah’Shawn Suber, Brothers: Yancy Suber (Doris), Takoma Park, MD, Freddie Suber (Marcia), Washington, DC, Sisters; LaJune Suber, Newberry, SC, Johnnie Margaret Maybin (James), Columbia SC, Brother-In-Laws: James Mayer, New Castle, DE, Tensley Mayer (June), New Castle, DE, Willie Reeder, Wilmington, DE, Nathaniel Mayer, Newberry, SC; Sister-In-Laws: Hattie Suber, Silver Spring, MD, Betty Jo Jacobs (Roger), Crandall, TX, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
