Olivia Marie Jones

On Friday June 7, 2024, our beloved angel Olivia Marie Jones better known as (Rita) to many was called home to be with the Lord. Born on August 14, 1949, to the Late Kenneth and Olivia Jones in Washington, DC. She was the eldest of four children. Rita attended DC Public Schools where she graduated from Cardoza High School. She held various jobs throughout her life working at St Johns High School, National Childrens Center (NCC) and as a Home Health Aid. Rita had a beautiful smile and a very down to earth personality. After meeting her either you were going to love her or dislike her because of her brutal honesty and bluntness. She would keep you laughing or ready to argue by her comments. She adored her family; she loved to cook and party. We have plenty of stories about Rita and her sisters for life; Diane and Barbara with them getting kicked out of the Casablanca night club on Georgia Ave. I really don’t know why they went there weekly because every time it would be a fight and they would be out the door…Ha, ha that trio was a mess. I will not call out Gloria, Sharon and Bootsie with their wild escapade’s as well. We Got to love them all! Rita loved on her nieces and nephews. She had a very special relationship with her first niece Kim and as a matter-of-fact Kim followed her with that gap between her teeth. (Ha, ha) As well as her youngest nice Quany who they would both, ask each other for $20 dollars every time they saw one another. She would always ask about her “Bird” which was her nephew Keyshon, the nick name that his cousin Kim gave him at birth. Rita was a devoted grandmother alongside of her life partner Jessie Everett; who adored and cared for her grandchildren. She was crazy about her first great-grand daughter who she gave the nick name (Ky-Ky) Na’Khari. She was there for her grandchildren in any way possible as well as her little cousin/grandson Tyrell. She was very supportive towards her daughter Erica and sister/cousin Tamika in their later years. Rita loved her family and many friends. She would be the first to offer a helping hand. She will be truly missed for her Shhhh talking, her bluntness, her laughter, and that outrageous personality. The following family members preceded her death; her son Eric Page (Fats), her brother Gary (Johnny) Jones Sr, her sister by another mother Diane McCoy and her nephew Gary Jones Jr. Rita leaves to cherish her precious memories; her daughter: Erica (Jones)Tramun, Son in Law Wilbert Tramun, her three grandchildren: Ashly Jones, Antonio Jones and Arjunae Jones, her five great-grandchildren: Na’Khari Walls, Omari Price, Jasmine Wallace, Zy’Heir Palmer, Jordan Wallace, her brother: Bryant Jones, sister: Gail Jones, niece Kim Jones, Quantyana Paige nephew Berone Jones, Byran Matthews (Wife Tiera Matthews), Brayvon Jones, Keyshon Jones a host of great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
