Morgan Nicole Smith

On November 30, 1996, 23 years ago, the world was blessed when Marie Danielle Antoine gave birth to Morgan Nicole Smith. Her second mother Stacey Russell entered Morgan’s life when she was seven years old. Upon her arrival and during her life she was the light of Marie and Stacey’s life as well as the Antoine and Smith families. Morgan graduated from Western School of Technology and Environmental Science in 2014. She went on to graduate from Bowie State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. At the time of her death, she was attending The Chicago School of Psychology perusing a Master’s Degree in Psychology. At an early age, she began attending Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Morgan was a beautiful little girl, Marie’s only child and the oldest grandchild. From an early age she was a talented musician. Morgan played the flute and saxophone and was always supported by family and friends at her concerts. She was a jovial person who had a strong affection for animals and people with special needs. Marie indulged her love of animals by purchasing guinea pigs, fish, hamsters, and her current doggy-son, George, the love of her life. At age seven, Morgan’s love of technology began. From the first iPhone she was hooked and Marie encouraged her technological pursuits however she could. Morgan was funny and goofy. She always saw the best in life and people and greeted everyone with that amazing smile. Her love of people extended to the special needs’ community. She enjoyed attending the Festival of Trees Celebration in support of children with special needs. Her interest in this arena was exhibited daily. At the time of her passing Morgan was employed as a Behavioral Analyst. She spoke passionately about the work she did, the interactions with her clients, and the since of fulfillment and satisfaction it gave her. Morgan had an inquisitive, fearless, spirit. She had a mind that led her to adventurous endeavors and fueled her love of travel. Morgan, Marie, and Stacey traveled to Virginia regularly but also traveled with other family members to wonderful destinations as often as possible. We watched our beautiful child grow into a beautiful young woman. We were so proud of her. Morgan leaves to mourn her mother, Marie D. Antoine; stepmother, Stacey Russell; father, Michael Smith; grandmothers, Marie L. Antoine, Arethia Smith, and Melinda Hogue; Grandfathers, Daniel Antoine and James Smith; Aunts, Marie E. Antoine, Rachel Antoine, Judith Antoine, Rosalind Rhock (Kia), Karen Smith, Jacqueline Meredith, and Thelma Jant; Uncles, Eddy Antoine, Edson Antoine, Charlie Russell, and Shannon Russell; Special cousins, Khalani Dawes, Naelyn Ginnetti, Marley Harris, and Mikey Antoine; Godmother, Catherine Evans; Extended aunts, Maria Stewart, Lisa Gilliam, Angie Paul, and Camelia Rubin and Tiffany Taylor. She also leaves to mourn her boyfriend, Jarrett Bell and a host of other family and friends.
