Mary Barbara Marshall

Mary Barbara Marshall, daughter of the late James B. and Martha D. Marshall peacefully slipped from time to eternity on February 20, 2021, in Augusta, GA. She just celebrated her 71st birthday on December 13th. Barbara attended University of Maryland College Park to become a veterinarian. She later changed career goals and graduated from Community College of Baltimore with a degree in Science Technology. She also attended and graduated from Notre Dame, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. Barbara lived in Ewing, New Jersey for a few years with her sister. While there, she attended St. John Baptist Church, and was baptized, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Vincent H. Jackson, she taught the pre-school during Vacation Bible School, and the youth during Sunday School. Barbara continued to study with the Princess Warriors Women’s Bible Study (Zoom) under Pastor Jeanette of Living Word Ministries. Maryland became home again just before the death of her Father, James. Barbara worked at a pre-school named Childtime. The children were her babies and lacked for nothing. She would even go in her own pocket to provide for them. Mom, Inez and Barbara decided that they would move south to Augusta, GA. to join their sister Vera, and her family. They lived very close to where the Masters Golf Tournament was played. Barbara worked at the Walgreens near home and would be excited about the tourist that would stop in the store. Barbara LOVED Country Music, Elvis and Science Fiction. She even got to meet George Takei (Sulu) from her favorite show, Star Trek. The year 2024 was a challenge for our dear sister. She went through major storms in her life. There were two surgeries. Before the last surgery we found that she had stage four cancer. Prayers to God went up from all over the county, but we trusted in God’s will. God showed us that our sister’s assignment was finished. We give glory to Him for such a beautiful loving and giving sister! Mary Barbara Marshall is predeceased by parents, James B. and Martha D. Marshall, a sister: Linda M. Bannister, a nephew Kevin Picott, Jr. Barbara leaves to mourn siblings: Pastor Jeanette (Pastor Kevin) Picott, NJ., Vera (Willie) Tutt, GA., Pastor James N. (Pastor Darlene S.) Marshall, MD., Inez Marshall, GA., Sister Cuz, Jacqueline Lipscomb, SC. Nephews: Andre, Joseph (Kristin), James A. (Kristina), Min. Shawn, Aaron, Jonathan, Brandon and Nieces: Devon, Nicole(Brian), LaTrisha and Teresa . A host of grand nieces and nephews.
