Remembering Marie Marie Williams was born on October 3, 1949 to LeGrand and Anna Cabbagestalk in Hartsville, SC. Marie was one of five children raised in a Christian home, and she attended Kingsville Methodist Church. She was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and graduated from Butler High School in 1967. After graduation she moved to Washington, DC. Marie became a member of Isle of Patmos Baptist Church in Washington, DC where she faithfully served and worshipped. For 23 years, she was a member of the October ministry, the Royal Usher Board and the Sunday School Bible Class #2. On December 28, 1974, Marie married the late Charles E. Williams, Jr., and to this union two children were born. Prior to his marriage to Marie, Charles was blessed with two sons. In addition to being a wife and mother, Marie worked for the National Federation of Federal Employees. After 33 years of faithful service, she retired. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, LeGrand and Anna Cabbagestalk, and two brothers; Leo “Chief” Bishop, Sr. and Robert H. Cabbagestalk, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters; Crystal and Nikki; two sons, Charles and Brian; one sister, Anna Thomas of San Diego, CA; two brothers, LeGrand Cabbagestalk, Jr. and James E. Cabbagestalk; four grandchildren, Aysia Williams, Terren Pinkney, Khyree White and Khalil White; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Bishop, Sarah Cabbagestalk, Jewel Mark Cabbagestalk and Eric Cabbagestalk; one brother-in-law, Lee Earnest Thomas, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews and a large extended family, church family and many friends.
