Louise Mason

To his Thessalonian friends Paul wrote, Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 Louise Rodgers Mason, the daughter of the late Granville Rodgers and Caroline Brown Rodgers, was born October 4, 1921, in Williamston, NC. She attended the public schools of Martin County, NC. Growing up in a small community, she discovered the love of her life and determined he would be her soulmate. So, November 1949, she married Fred Mason who preceded her in death. Louise had two loving children whom she adored. Enjoying a productive life, she possessed a unique satisfaction in cooking. Louise received special joy in inviting friends and family into her home for a well-prepared meal. Posh, as she was affectionately called by her family, maintained a spotless home. She loved nice clothes and could be seen regularly dressed to the nines. She was a very diligent worker in all her pursuits. Additionally, she loved her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Having been granted longevity, she lived her life to the fullest, always willing to lend a helping hand in the time of need. There will be an unfillable void in the lives of her family, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her. At the ripe age of one hundred and one years, Louise Rodgers Mason was called from labor to reward Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at her home in Owings Mill, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Bradley Mason; her siblings, HD “Pooster” Rodgers, Clarence Rodgers, Augusta “Doc” Rodgers, and Ethel Mae Rodgers. To cherish her memories, she leaves her loving and devoted daughter, Sarah L. Mason Abron of Owings Mill, MD; six grandchildren, Anthony O’Neill Mason (Constance), Valerie Pollard, James Gregory Mason, Michael “Rod” Bullock, Diane Campbell, and Kim Rochelle Abron Porter (Todd); several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.
