Kipling Lenard Ross, Sr., affectionately known as "Kip,” entered this world in the embrace of Benjamin Ross and Malvena Ross on January 21, 1952, in Washington, DC. His educational journey within the DC public schools system culminated in his graduation from Calvin Coolidge High School in 1970, a pivotal moment that laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Kip's entrepreneurial spirit propelled him on a remarkable professional odyssey. He co-operated four gas stations throughout the DC metropolitan area before steering his career towards a role as a long-distance truck driver with Hechinger. In 1991, Kip's visionary spirit manifested itself once again as he established and successfully helmed Washington Sedans LLC, a corporate sedan service that has thrived for over 30 years, leaving an indelible mark on the business landscape. From his early days, Kip harbored an unwavering love for race cars, a passion that he seamlessly threaded through the fabric of his life. His first car, a 1959 Cadillac, sparked his profound love for vintage cars. The joy he found in refurbishing cars emerged as a beloved pastime, a testament to his dedication to precision and craftsmanship. Kip discovered solace and happiness on the open road, especially during drives to North Carolina and Georgia. These journeys were not mere trips; they were cherished chapters filled with discovery and the simple pleasures of the highway. Kip also found joy in cooking and grilling, creating delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Kip's impact on the business world and his commitment to family and passion for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy is woven intricately with the love and connections he nurtured within his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his two children, Kip Jr. and Tiffany. In 1991 he found companionship and love with his wife Michelle, further expanding his family to include two bonus children, Chaminada and Eboné. Kip's affable demeanor and incredible sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of crossing his path. His laughter echoed through the moments they shared, bringing joy to everyone he met, creating an ease of spirit, and instilling a peace and lightness that will be a guiding light in the days ahead. Kip will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the laughter, love, and wisdom he generously shared. His wife Michelle; son Kipling Jr. (Kelly), daughters Tiffany, Chaminada, and Eboné (Rami); grandchildren Bailey, Marley, Steeley, Ekwon, Marquise, Symoné, and Rai; great-grandchildren Noah, Zaya, and Zoë, along with his brother Rodney, brother-in-law Ronnie (Beverly), sisters-in-law Sonia (Lacy), Merle, and Pearl; a very dear friend, Donna; and a host of nieces and nephews all hold onto the precious memories of a life well-lived.
