Harold C. Logan, Jr.

“To Be Absent from The Body, Is to Be Present with The Lord” (2 Corinthians verse 8) Harold Cleveland Logan Jr better known as “Hawk” to some and “Junior” to others, transitioned to be with the Lord Jesus Christ suddenly on the morning of June 5, 2019 at his residence in Upper Marlboro, MD. Harold is now resting in his new home, he is at peace, with no worries, and no pain. Harold (Junior) was a devoted and loving son born to Harold C. Logan Sr and Virginia D. Logan (Lewis). Grandson to Rev. Nathaniel Logan Sr, Florence Logan, Irving Lewis, and Betty Lewis (all proceeded him). Harold was born on February 3, 1961 and reared in the Washington, DC area until he married his loving wife and High School sweetheart Carol L. Logan on October 5, 1985. From this union they have two beautiful children that Harold was so proud of, his son Casey M. Logan, his daughter Brittaney N. Logan and a grandson he cherished Kyon A. Frye. Harold graduated in 1979 from Spingarn Senior High school where he was in the orchestra and ROTC, he attended University of the District of Columbia where he studied Engineering, and Lincoln Tech for HVAC. Harold was a member of the DC Youth Orchestra as a “brilliant” trumpet player. Harold gave his life to the Lord at an early age December 1971 when he joined First Rising Mt. Zion Baptist church in Washington DC. He was in the Intermediate Choir, devoted member of the Senior Usher Board, Trustee Board, and Assistant Director of the Orchestra. He later joined Life Church in Upper Marlboro, MD. Harold loved the Lord and read the Bible often. In Harold’s earlier years he worked for The Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Capital Heights MD as Route Driver and Account Manager for 12 years. He then started work at Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) now Republic Service in Capital Heights, MD as a Recycle Driver for 26 years. Harold leaves to cherish such wonderful memories, with his loving wife Carol L. Logan, his son Casey M. Logan, his daughter Brittaney N. Logan, his grandson Kyon A. Frye, his father Deacon Harold C. Logan Sr, his mother Deaconess Virginia D. Logan, his in-laws Carl H. Peerman Sr, and Eloise Peerman, three brother in-laws Carl H. Peerman Jr, Michael L. Peerman (Kerry), and Kenneth E. Peerman (who proceeded him), a niece Alana G. Peerman, a nephew Jayson M. Peerman, one aunt Rebecca Dorsey, play sister Patricia Goodwin, God daughter Andrea Fitzgerald and a host of, cousins and friends. Harold will truly be missed by all the people he met. He was fun to be around, always making you laugh, and always having a story to tell. His signature trademark was, a toothpick in his mouth and his NY Yankees baseball cap.
