God delivered Grylain Eugene Otts as the youngest son to the late James and only son of Lillie Otts on November 12, 1960. And on February 4, 2006, God called him home to join his daughter Reva LeAnn Otts, his father and his brother James ?Renny? Young. Grylain, also known to many as ?Gene,? ?Gryl? or ?Easy,? attended Eastern High School where he enjoyed being on the track team. During his young years, he drilled with the Martin Luther King Jr. Herd of Washington D.C. squad. He enjoyed drilling so much that he later formed a neighborhood drill squad to occupy the time of the youth in the community. Grylain joined and was baptized at Trinidad Baptist Church and later became a member of Revival Temple Church both located in Washington, D.C. He was married for 18 years to Tywanna Bowman and from this union 3 daughters were born; one proceeded him in death. He was employed by Auth Bros. Meat Wholesalers for more than 10 years until he left under medical disability due to renal failure. He was blessed with a kidney transplant May of 2000 and later was employed by Enterprise Rent a Car until the time of his death. Grylain left to cherish his memory, his two lovely daughters, Asia and Chuntal; his former wife Tywanna Otts; his mother Lillie Otts; one sister Karen Woolen; two aunts, Dorothy Wells of Wagener, SC and Alwillie Sease of Elmont, NY; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and whole host of relatives and friends. FOR MY FATHER Daddy while you were here we had some troubled times but I?m emotionless now that you?re gone. At least you went peacefully. Maybe God took you before another stint of suffering. Blessing you with leaving with a little peace of mind. I?ll be strong for my sister as you?ve asked me to be. I thank you for all the times you wrapped your arms around me. There are milestones in my life that in the flesh you will miss. But I know your spirit will be in the mist. Trouble don?t last always so I know I will get through. While you?re up there, thank God for me just for giving me you. I might not have said it everyday, but I love you daddy and from that I will never stray. I?m trusting in God to remove these rainy days and take the pain away.So that I can rejoice in all the memories of the days before you had to go away. Tell Reva, Renny and grandaddy to stay with you through these days because I know that you would have rather not left your daughters this way. We love you and as we stand in your likeness we will face it all together; day by day. This is not goodbye because I?ll see you again one day. So for now. I love you daddy more than words can say. When tomorrow starts without me and I am not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn?t cry, the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn?t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me I know you?ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand, and said my place was ready. In heaven far above, and that I?d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. If I could relive yesterday just even for a while, I?d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I realized that this could never be, for emptiness and memories would take the place of me. But when I walked through heaven?s gates I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me from His golden throne. He said, ?This is eternity, and all I?ve promised you.? that an angel came and called my name, So when tomorrow starts without me, don?t think we?re far apart, for every time you think of me, I?m right here, in your heart. My Father Was a Great Man "Chuntal's Poem" My father was a great man He was my friend, father, teacher, and helping hand Some say I was the apple of his eye But, I just think it?s the love Built in from so many days he spent away Much before I was born And the fact that my sister left him cold and blue. I?ll never know why my father had to go But, I do know one thing that he?s safe with so many friends and family til the end And I know that he loved us and never meant to leave this way. For he left us with the only gift a child could ever ask for in life. He left us to be our own person, to have our own peace of mind, He left us with wisdom, trust, respect, love, hope and joy He leaves you the memories he holds dear He leaves you the power to make it on your own. So don?t cry for my daddy Cry for your memories The good times you spent just you and him. Stay strong for him so that I may be strong as well Strong for the family he left for me to be happy with Allow me to be strong for myself as I get through My 16th birthday without him, my graduation and so much more Complaining is not my style And lately complaining has been around But this one thing I can?t complain about Because he could have left days after he found out that he was sick He could have left when I was two but he stayed and made it through God called him home but before he did he give my father a treasure of his own He gave him a treasure in me and my sisters? His godchildren too The treasure?s of immense and untold worth. He brought a touch of heaven to my father?s life He blessed him with three wonderful angels from above He blessed him with the gift of a friend; his love and joy too. With Love Chuntal - N.R.
