Gloria A. Goodwin

Gloria Ann Goodwin was born to the late Lucious Kelley and Violet Chamberliss on June 7, 1958. On Monday, June 22, 2020 Gloria's work on earth was complete. "Well done my good and faithful servant" said the Lord Then God extended the call for her to walk the streets paved in Gold, the land of milk and honey and her answer was "Yes Lord". Gloria received her elementary and secondary education from The DC Public School System, graduating from Spingarn High School in 1976. She attended Dorothea B Lane Secretarial Shool where she mastered clerical work and typed at a speed of over 75 WPM. Her success in acedemia paved the foundation for administrative work in the government. Being the epitome of my sister's keeper she did not keep this success to herself and subsequently helped others obtain and maintain employment in the government. Gloria was a member of Galatian's Baptist Church in Washington ,DC. Her christian walk extended far beyond the walls of Galatians. Gloria's love for Christ was one of her most valuable attributes. She exemplified Matthew 22:36-40 in her daily life - loving Christ with all her heart, soul, and mind and loving her neighbor as herself. Whether Gloria was singing about Jesus and the experience he shared with the woman at the well, on many occasians opening her home to provide shelter to someone in need, or toting her bible around she created joy and laughter to everyone in her presence. She lived a life of triumphs, a life worth emulating, and a life full of example. She has left us messages in memories of her and her smile in both the sun and the stars. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents the late Lucious Kelley and the late Violet Chamberliss and brother the late Larry Kelley. Gloria leaves to cherish her memories her Husband: Robert Goodwin, Two Sisters: Laverne Kelley & Lessie Mae, Two Sons: Richard Whitfield (Pearlnetta) and Robert Goodwin (Teresa), Two: daughters Taccara Goodwin (James) LaFonta Dublin, Sixteen grandchildren: Brandon, Briana, Delonte, Devine, Jalia, Jasmin, Jenay, Jordan, Juliana, Jy-Langsha Markel, Markese, Markiera, Sabrina, Shequita and Tawan. Seven great grandchildrildren: Amir, Danielle, Delonte, Makenzie, Mason, Michael, Rayla, Goddaughter: Latoyia Green, Best Friend: Marcia Johnson a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
