Geraldine Marie Brooks

Geraldine Marie Lockwood-Brooks daughter of the late James Earnest Morrison and Ella Mae Lockwood-Morrison-Winfrey was born January 28, 1952, in Southern Pines, Moore County, NC. After moving to Maryland, Geraldine attended Edmondson High School in Baltimore, MD. After high school, Geraldine met and married James Arthur Brooks and from this union two children were born. Later, she met Vernon Lee Wheeler Jr and from this union three children were born. In the mid 2000's she relocated to Courtland VA. with a special friend Emanuel Williams. Later, moved back to Baltimore, resided in Randallstown, MD, then Gwynn Oak, MD. Without a church home in Maryland, Geraldine attended churches of close friends & family. Her Christian core belief & faith in Jesus Christ centers around her personal relationship and love of God, which she instilled this belief in her children and grandchildren. Geraldine was a movie enthusiast who enjoyed collecting dolls, jewelry fabrication and bargain hunting. Some of her Favorite movies include Norbit, The Titanic, Imitation of Life, The Fighting Temptations & The Temptations. She always listened to music such as The O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Shirley Caesar, Al Green, Kirk Franklin, Whitney Houston & Beyonce. He had a multitude of artistic capabilities such as mending and making clothes, -curtains, tablecloths, pillowcases, baking, making beautiful jewelry sets & rings, pressing hair and was extremely organized. With so much talent, Geraldine created a hospitable home everywhere she lived and accumulated a great number of friends who respected and adored her. She was a nurturing loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. It was difficult to tell when she was facing her own challenges or health issues because she always had a smile on her face no matter what. Geraldine chose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, and her legacy will live on forever through sisters; Mae Doris Morrison-White, Maryln Morrison, Melba Ankers and brother; James McCarter. Children; Janice Brooks-Andrews, Michael Brooks, Sharonda Wheeler-Cox, Ella Wheeler Jones and Gerard Wheeler. Grandchildren; Shawnetta Layton, Ronald Steppe Jr, Michael Brooks Jr, Vanessa Brooks, Precious Knight, Shania Hill, Alaysia Cox, Asire Cox, Raequawn Clark, Donte' Clark, Daniel Allen Jr, Jeremiah Jones, Caleb Jones, Janyia Wheeler, Janeara Wheeler, Renee Wheeler, Gerard Wheeler, Jaleal Wheeler, Jakaia Wheeler, Jace Wheeler and Angel Rodriguez. Great-Grandchildren; Samiya Edwards, Demi Bell, Denim Bell, Zion Steppe, Zane Steppe, Ca'Pre Robinson, Karmyn McFadden and Noah Clark. Close niece & nephews; Ulrica White-Crawley, Bobbie White-Cephas, Robert White Jr, Eric Southall and her son in-laws; Wendell Andrews, Tony Cox and Laron Jones, and a huge host of other relatives.
