Edward Harry Fountain Jr. 1948-2011 Edward Harry Fountain Jr was born September 6 1948 to the proud parents Mary Margeret and Edward Harry Fountain Sr. Edward was the loving and oldest brother to Cederic, Bernard(Bernie),Lucille Margeret,Jerome and Crystal Fountain. Edward attended DCPS and Theodore Roosevelt H.S Edward enlisted in the U.S army and served in the Vietnam war as part of the First Calvary Division. In Vietnam Edward distinguished himself by being awarded numerous medals and honors, for heroism and bravery recieving : Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, 2 overseas bars,The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm as well as being recognized as a Sharpshooter w/M-14. After serving his country Edward embarked on a life of Family and Work, Marrying his wife of 40 years Jonny Mae Brown Fountain and raising a family that included Little Eddie, Leah, Courtny,Jason and Shannon and welcoming in Stephen Gaddis and Christelena Robinson and the joys of his life grandchildren Nya and Jayden Edward worked as an accomplished Chef working at many area restaurants including Hawk and Dove,Anchor Inn, Raindancer as well as country clubs at Indian Spring and Germantown.{The Mighty Burner} Edward was a diehard Redskin fan, a lover of R&B music, avid chess player and enjoyed movies. Most of all Edward cherished his family, He was a good provider, loving and willing protecter,adoring husband and proud father... a good man, as well as a God fearing servant of the Lord. Edward will be missed by a host of relatives, friends.
