Mr. Daryl Ferdinand Bartley

DARYL FERDINAND BARTLEY was born to Sarah Ann Bartley and Harvey Stewart on November 20, 1961, at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC. His early days were spent in the loving care of his Maternal Grandmother “Momma” the late Mrs. Ella Mae Walker of Fort Motte, South Carolina. On June 28, 2025, Daryl went home to eternal rest to be with his Lord. As a native Washingtonian Daryl received his education at Moten Elementary School, Kramer Middle School, and McKinley Technology High School. Upon graduation from McKinley, he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta GA. His professional experience included sales positions at the following companies: RR Donnelley & Sons, Chicago, IL. Equitable Insurance Company, Atlanta, GA. Founded, Personal Courier, Inc, Atlanta, GA. District Cablevision, Washington, DC. Division Sales Manager Eastern Region, Moreno BHLV Sparkling Wine and Premier Label Water Company, Washington, DC. VIP Coordinator, The Park at 14th, Washington, DC. Advertising Sales Manager, RTUI, Inc, Houston, TX. Director of New Business Development, Cable Communications, Atlanta, GA. Regional Sales Manager, Chicago Cable Advertising, Inc, Chicago, IL. Daryl had a flair for life and living. His ambition, motivation and drive, blended with his charismatic and engaging personality, his wit and intelligence would bring into existence one of the more revered individuals in his orbit of friends, associates and all those he encountered. Daryl will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality. He had a flair for life and living. He truly personified the saying “A Stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.” He was outgoing, friendly, and quick with a smile or funny saying. Anyone who knew Daryl “DB” as his friends called him can laughingly share DB isms. You know those phrases that only DB would utter and make you smile or bust out laughing - “Ahh yes suh!” or “Naturally!” A man of impeccable style and fine taste; Daryl was often imitated but never duplicated. He was truly a man for all seasons. He could wine and dine with U. S. Presidents, politicians, music and sports industry celebrities and social activists yet he never forgot his true home, Southeast DC. Daryl was preceded in death by his Father Harvey Stewart and his Maternal Grandmother Mrs. Ella Mae Walker. Daryl is survived by his loving Mother Sarah Ann Bartley, his sons Blaine Alexander Gidron-Bartley and his mother Bridgette Gidron of Scarsdale, NY and Brandon Amir Bartley and his mother Jodi Theresa Bailey of Bronx, NY. He is also survived by his maternal Aunts and Uncles Josh Bartley, Leon Bartley, Cassie and Ben Cobbs, Beatrice Bartley, a host of loving cousins, extended family and dear friends.
