Cynthia Diana Muldrow

OBITUARY “Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.” Isaiah 33:2 NIV Cynthia Diana Muldrow was born on September 12, 1965 in Washington, DC to the late James and Mary Muldrow. She was affectionately known as “Cindy Lou” by her Dad. She was the youngest of their two children. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Cynthia attended the public schools of Washington, DC, where she graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School in 1983. She received an Associate Degree in Accounting at Prince George’s Community College in Largo Maryland in 1999. Later, she would attend the University of Maryland in Adelphi Maryland receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Business Administration in May 2006. Cynthia was a dedicated worker. She held various positions at Disclosure, Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland and The Mall at Prince Georges in Hyattsville, Maryland. She worked a total of 32 years, 16 years at each. She continued to cherish the special friendships made during these years. Cynthia loved to shop, travel, spending time with family and friends, laughing, and enjoying life. She also loved to read and watch movies. And, was an avid collector of both. Her personality and character touched and impacted everyone who came in contact with her. Her spiritual journey began early when she attended church services at Saint Mark Baptist Church in Washington, DC. As a young child, Cynthia spent countless summers in Georgia with her late Maternal Grandmother (Mu) and other relatives. In 1972, she joined, was baptized and would receive the right hand of fellowship at Greater Hope Baptist Church in Martin, Georgia. As an adult, Cynthia attended the “From God to Us” Bible Class for many years. She was a diligent and active participant by praising, worshipping, searching the scriptures and singing unto the Lord Jesus Christ. She was often teased for being the teacher’s pet. Cindy enjoyed fellowshipping with her family. Cynthia’s Spiritual Gifts were faith, mercy, leadership and discernment. Almighty God used Cynthia mightily in His kingdom on earth. In the midst of Cynthia’s trials, tribulations and health situations, she continued to glorify God saying, “Thank you, Jesus!” We will miss her very much. To God be the glory for her life on earth. She leaves to cherish her memory a Loving Mother, Mary Muldrow; a Sister, Nadine (Kenneth) Kinard; two Nephews, Kenneth Kinard, Jr. and Antione (Jennyl) Kinard; her Great Nephew and two Great Nieces, Isaiah, Ava and Erin; Paternal Aunts and Uncles: Willa Williams, Remonia (Ike) Sam, Marvin Muldrow, Doris (Gary) Jones, Earl Muldrow, Rex Muldrow, Mack Jenkins and Joyce Muldrow. Maternal Aunts and Uncles: Alberta Teasley, Katherine Oglesby, Geraldine Oglesby, Betty Morris, and Morris (Mary Lou) Oglesby; and a host of Cousins, Godchildren and Special Friends. INTERMENT Maryland National Memorial Cemetery 13300 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel MD 20707 We are humbled by the many acts of kindness shown to us as a result of the untimely passing of our loved one. Words are never enough to express the gratitude that we feel, but please know that we thank you sincerely from the depths of our hearts for all that you have done for us. Please accept our gratitude as a testament to our understanding that through it all, God is still in charge. Thank you so much! - The Muldrow and Kinard Family I’m Free Don’t grieve for me now, I’m free I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I’ve savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me. for God wanted me now, He set me free.
