Clementine Veronica White

Clementine Veronica White departed this life surrounded by her loving family at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024. Clem, as she was affectionately called, was born in Washington D.C. to Julia Fandell and Robert F. Young on January 27, 1939. Her formal education was in Washington D.C. Public Schools attending Cardoza High School. After graduation, she attended Washington D.C. Teachers College and earned a Business Administration degree. Once obtaining her degree, Clementine began her career with The Department of Health & Human Services where she worked for 37 years until she retired on September 30, 2003. She also received an Interior Design diploma with High Honors from The Stratford Career Institute in November 2008. Clementine married the late John White Jr. and from their union, three daughters and one son were born. Clementine leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Donna White, Denise White, and Audrey Roaker; --- a son, Kevin White; --- a son-in-law, Michael Roaker; ---a daughter-in-law, Sherrie White, --- five grandchildren, Roland White, Jeanine White, Aubrey Roaker, Tavon Hunter and Kevin John White; — a granddaughter-in-law Keisha White, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers Ernest Young, Thomas Young, and Robert Young Jr. Clementine was exceptionally creative and talented in the arts. She was a passionate seamstress and tailor. Clem dedicated her time to sewing projects that brought joy to her family, friends and church community. She made elaborate costumes for her children and grandchildren creating wonderful garments that enriched their lives. She designed and added her creative touch to formal wear for family weddings and special occasions, all done with love. Clementine was a talented singer and enjoyed singing in multiple choirs throughout her lifetime. She included her children and grandchildren in the joy of singing and Praising the Lord. She taught herself and her grandchildren how to read music and play the piano. She was an avid puzzle solver. Clementine had a passion for learning and sharing her knowledge. Clementine, Clem, Aunt Clem, Grandma, and Mom is loved and will be deeply missed
