Cleaorn Wilson

Cleaorn Wilson, on Saturday, October 21, 2006, Cleaorn Wilson heard the voice of the Lord beckoning him to come home while a patient at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, Maryland. Cleaorn was the youngest son born to the late Frank and Fannie Wilson on January 14, 1925 in New Hill, North Carolina. The family then moved to Turkey, North Carolina. Cleaorn was baptized and became a member of Six Run Baptist Church, Turkey, North Carolina. He had a desire to serve his country, so he enlisted in the United States Navy in World War II. After completing his tour, he married the love of his life, Isabella Faison. They left North Carolina, moved to Washington, D. C. and Cleaorn moved his membership to New Bethany Baptist Church, Washington, D. C. Cleaorn had a desire to serve the Lord and later became a member of the Kings of Melody. He moved his membership and joined Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Washington, D. C. and became a member of The Second Choir. Better known as Willie, he was an employee of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. On October 27, 1990, he retired from his job as a Physical Science Technician. Once he retired, you could find him sitting out front of his home on the step or in the car. In the morning you would see him at Seven-Eleven purchasing a cup of coffee and the Washington Post and Washington Times. Spending time with his grandchildren was a joy to him. Until his health began to fail, he also loved going fishing, working on his car, mowing the grass, or going to see his wife at the nursing home. He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife of fifty-three years, Mrs. Isabella Wilson, a resident of Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, MD; six children, Mrs. Magdalene Walton of Capitol Heights, MD, Mr. Larry Wilson of Sutton, WV, Mrs. Brenda Toyer of Forestville, MD, Mrs. Bobbie Avery of Waldorf, MD, Miss Renee Wilson of Hyattsville, MD and Mr. Bernard Wilson of Lothian, MD; Three sons-in-law, Mr. James Walton, Mr. Kenneth Toyer, Sr. and Mr. Delheart Avery, III; one sister, Ms. Mabel Wilson of Durham, NC; one brother, Mr. Simon Wilson, Sr. of Washington, DC; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mammie Wilson of Washington, DC, Mrs. Mary Williams of Springlake, NC, Mrs. Annie Smith of Newark, NJ and Mrs. Vernell Morrisey of Turkey, NC; three brothers-in-law, Rev. Jack Williams of Springlake, NC, Mr. Walter Faison of East Orange, NJ and Mr. Percy Faison of Turkey, NC, fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
