Christina S. Lewis

Christina Sylvia Lewis, beloved daughter of the late James McKeever and Lucille Baker, was born on June 30, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, and peacefully departed this life on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at her home in Randallstown, Maryland. Christina was a faithful child of God who accepted Christ at an early age and lived her life grounded in faith, compassion, and service to others. Christina was a proud graduate of Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore City. She continued her education at Morgan State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and later received a Master of Science degree in Criminal Studies from Coppin State University. A lifelong learner, Christina placed great value on education and continued taking college courses long after completing her graduate studies, reflecting her enduring commitment to personal growth and knowledge. Christina dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a loving and influential presence in the life of her dear niece, Syne Burton, and in 1970 she embraced her role as a devoted mother to her only child, Marcus Lewis. Christina also served many years as a Parole and Probation Officer, earning the distinguished honor of becoming the first senior female Parole and Probation Officer in the State of Maryland—a testament to her professionalism, leadership, and trailblazing spirit. Following her retirement, her passion for service continued as she fostered individuals of all ages, from infants to teenagers to elderly adults, offering guidance, stability, and love to those in need. She had a deep love for travel and enjoyed exploring the world, visiting breathtaking destinations such as Thailand and embarking on cruises to many exotic locations. Christina was also a gifted cook who delighted family and friends with her signature dishes and was especially known for her famous German chocolate cake, always prepared with love and generosity. Christina leaves to cherish her memory her son, Marcus Lewis; daughter-in-law, Kirstin Lewis; and grandsons, Darian and Donovan Lewis, all of Westminster, Maryland. She is also survived by her brother, Jacquette Turner, Sr., and nephew Jacquette Turner, Jr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; devoted friends Beverly Birkhead and Doretha Grafton of Baltimore, Maryland; along with several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her former husband, John H. Lewis, Jr., of Columbia, Maryland and her sister Nancy Colbert, of Baltimore, Md.
