Brian A. Mason

Brian A. Mason was born on August 26, 1968, in Washington, DC. On June 5, 2025, he went home to be with the Lord. Brian was Carroll T. and Elnora Mason's youngest child. He attended Prince George's County Public Schools and then earned a master's degree in biblical studies from Lancaster Bible College. Brian joined New Chapel Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, Maryland, at an early age, was baptized, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Rev. William Hill, Pastor Emeritus. He was a member of several choirs and enjoyed singing and blessing others via music. Brian's devotion for God was quite strong, and he got the nickname "the Bible Boy" in high school. Brian enjoyed sports; he was on the wrestling team and briefly played baseball in high school. He enjoyed photography, archery, hunting, building, repairing, and racing RC cars. He was a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Commanders. When the NFL season ended, he watched the newest soccer, baseball, basketball, and wrestling matches on the television. Brian also loved weapons, and you could find him at the range with his closest friend and pal Cliff and his dear wife Simone. Brian loved people and his love to help those in need was evident in his walk with Christ. He would share the gospel with anyone and everyone who listened. He was a giver who donated his time and talent to the church building and running sounds systems. Brian was a true sound engineer where he learned this trade from the late William Holley (Pappa Bill) During Brian’s Walk with Christ, he joined Victory Church International, where he married the love of his life, Simone Atkins. He was later ordained as a Deacon by Pastor Walter E. and Apostle Dr. Carmen Y. Lattimore. He sang in the Mass Choir, served in the Men's Ministry, and oversaw the Sound System Ministry. Brian has also served as a missionary in Kenya and Uganda, Africa. Brian became a licensed minister at Living Water Ministries in 2014, working under Bishop Nathan L. Merritt, Sr. Pastor. He also managed sound system for the House of Hope Praise Ministry and Bethel Church. Deacon Brian engaged in ministry with his wife, Assistant Pastor Simone A. Mason, arranging yearly conferences for A Royal Creation Ministries. Brian's zeal for singing, preaching, and teaching the word of God was evident in his voice when he sang or preached. Brian had an extensive career in Information technology, working for a variety of firms in the DMV and traveling nationally and internationally on behalf of his employers. Brian worked as a Systems Engineer with Windward Consulting Group, Inc. before his passing. He served as a Deacon who preached and taught the gospel at Restoring Life Family Community Center under the auspices of Her Grace, Apostle Dr. Valerie Howard-Jones of Manifest Kingdom Global Alliances; Spiritual Father and Covering Metropolitan Archbishop Dr. William and Apostle Dr. Felicia Billups, Executive Vice Presiding Bishop. Brian is proceeded in death by his, father and mother-in-law Herbert and Sallie B. Atkins, sister-in-law Genie M. Atkins, Cousin/Brother Coleman Harbor and Godmother Beatrice Brown. Brian is survived by his beloved wife Simone A. Mason, fur baby Ruckus, his parents Carroll T. and Elnora Mason, sister Edolia Rena Parker (Charles), brother Tony A. Mason, nieces Crystal Coghlan (Bobby), Jewel Parker, Danielle Terrebrood (Nicholas), Nephew Stephen Parker (Shamira), great-niece Cadence Coghlan, great nephews Amari and Averi Parker, Jaylen and Andres Terrebrood. God daughters Alyssa Cohen and Ashlei Moore, a bonus niece Tiara Francis, best friends and brothers Clifton (Cliff) Lewis and Karlyle Hill. As well as a host of family members and friends. Brian always said to quote his father Carroll T. Mason, "You'll never get out this world alive!”
