Brian Ramon Lane

Brian Ramon Lane was born on November 9, 1991 in Washington, DC at Columbia Hospital for Women to his proud parents Jeffrey Ramon and April C. Lane. Brian had a tremendous work ethic and was seen as a leader amongst his friends and coworkers. He was also extremely competitive in all areas of his life, and he never backed down from a challenge no matter what. He loved sports from a young age and competed in everything from soccer, baseball, basketball, track and football. Of all the sports, he loved football the most. He began playing Pee Wee football at the age of 6 at the #2 Police Boys and Girls Club in Washington, DC. After moving to Clinton, MD Brian begged his father to stay on the #2 team which he allowed, as long as he kept his grades up. Eventually he started playing for the Maryland Titans, where his skills and leadership set him apart. He continued playing there until he entered high school. He tested and was accepted into the Oxon Hill High School Science and Technology Program where he continued his love of football and played corner back for the Clippers until his graduation in 2009. He then went on to attend St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, where he played for the Red Flash football team. Brian’s love of sports carried on to his favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He was an extreme Eagles fan. Brian’s greatest passion in this world was his daughter, Jaelyn Rose Lane. He was an amazing father who took great pride and joy in taking care of her. From the moment she was born, he was a full time, hands on, totally involved in every aspect of her young life, kind of Daddy. When she would become fussy, he would rock her to sleep in his arms with his favorite Bob Marley song, Is This Love. Despite our objections he continued as he was convinced that it was soothing to her. He thoroughly enjoyed his daddy time with her at her nightly baths and the videos he made with her trying to teach her the latest dances. He beamed with pride when he would receive picture messages of her during his workday and would show everyone who would look, even if they didn’t want to see. She was his purpose in life and he loved her more than words could describe and would do anything for her. Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Rose M. Catoe and his paternal grandparents, Sylvia Frances Martin and Johnnie Lane Sr. His cousins Jason Logan, DeShaun Saulsbury and Jamiyah Smith. He leaves to honor and cherish his precious memory his daughter, Jaelyn Rose Lane, his parents Jeffrey and April Lane, his sister, Brandi R. Lane, seven aunts, Dot, Harriet, Tawanna (Houston), Stephanie (Robert), Sheena, Deborah and Jamie (Bruce), three uncles, Anthony, Albert (Diane) and Johnny Jr. and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, his girlfriend Eymis Paz and her daughter Genesis Hawkins.
