Barbara Delle Cooper

Barbara Delle Nelson-Cooper was born on October 6, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, to parents Henry and Loise-Pryor Nelson. Her mother passed away in the deep south when she was not quite 2 years old and so she and her 6 siblings were raised by her father with the dedicated support of an extended family of Aunts and Uncles. As a very young lady, mom had five children and dedicated her life to raising them and spending time with her family. She was an incredible person and everyone who knew her loved her. She enjoyed engaging in conversations with family members, sharing family history, and always encouraged each one of us to stay connected, love one another and to live a fulfilling and dignified life. Mom enjoyed all of the finest things. She had impeccable taste, a flawless style, perfect grace, ageless class and was absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. She enjoyed traveling to her properties, playing the slots at the casino, watching the Price is Right and just hanging out with her children. She was wise beyond measure and held herself and all of those around her to the highest regard. Barbara Delle Nelson-Cooper was the last living sibling in her family, but her life will carry on through generations. She is survived by her five children and in-laws; Reni (Renee) and Charles Keith, Toby Cooper, Barbara and Paul Geiger, Edward and Trisha Cooper, Robert and Patricia Cooper. Five Grandchildren; Edward Cooper Jr., Aniya Geiger, Azaria Geiger, Quinn Cooper, Devon Cooper, Great Granddaughter Kehlani Marae Neal-Cooper, former husband Herman Edward Cooper and numerous other family and friends. Mom had a beautiful heart, and at 83 years old, it was one that ultimately slowed down enough to escort her to God’s heavenly gates. Mom transitioned, peacefully, with family, on March 14, 2021 at 4:30 a.m. and when she crossed over, she was welcomed by the many, many loved ones that passed on before her. They ushered her in, with open arms, hugs, kisses and the blessings of everlasting life. She is now breathing, putting on those high healed dancing shoes, wearing the finest of clothes and being empowered once more! She will forever live on in our Hearts, our Body, our Mind and our Soul … and as she has always said … “I Love You, Love You, Love You – Soooo Much”. We will miss you mom and until we meet again…We will Forever Celebrate your Life!
