Arnold Reid Coleman

Arnold R. Coleman was born in Washington, D.C. on September 18, 1960, to the late Mack A. Coleman and Bertha M. Coleman. Arnold accepted Christ at Parker Memorial Baptist Church at a young age. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Ebenezer AME Church. For many years, Arnold was a member of the Kingsmen Choir, Beyond the Walls ministry, and sometimes supported Bible Study classes alongside Reverend Deas. On May 26, 2025, the Lord called Arnold home to Glory. One of his favorite scriptures was Isaiah 53:5. By His strips, Arnold has now received total healing in heaven. Arnold grew up in Riggs Park, N.E., (D.C.) where he attended D.C. Public Schools. He worked a variety of jobs over the years. He was a Tractor Trailer driver for more than 20 years. He worked at the Smithsonian Institute before transitioning to a position at “The US Architect of the Capitol” where he served for 12 years until his retirement in December 2024. Arnold also had a heart for mentoring young men. He often mentored the young men in his community, on the job, at church and his son’s friends. He used his past experiences and lessons learned to teach and guide them toward a path of success. The biggest message Arnold would share with them was “Strength is not always fighting the battle that’s in front of you but walking away from the challenges that are trying to cause you to fall.” He loved the Lord and made sure to share with them the goodness of God. Arnold’s greatest joy was his family and being a father. In his pass time he enjoyed spending time with his wife and son. Arnold shares one son, Arnold R. Coleman Jr., with his wife Inga. Arnold and Inga were married on September 17, 1994. Arnold was preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin B. Taylor and Rodney D. Coleman. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and son; two sisters, Yvette Carter (Howard) and Dynia Beaty; two brothers-in-law, Eric Colquit (Lea Colquit) and Anthony Colquit; four sisters-in-law, Kimberly Brown (Vincent Brown), Cassandra Taylor (Kevin Taylor), and Tonya Coleman (Rodney Coleman). He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends who love him dearly. Arnold will truly be missed! He fought hard and for that we are grateful. We have another angel in heaven to watch over us. Until we meet again my husband, father, brother, uncle and friend! Psalm 118:1 (NIV) “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.”
