Johnnie Bell, Jr.

On June 11, 1946, Johnnie Bell Jr was born to the late Johnnie Bell Sr and Havana (Stevenson)Bell. They raised their precious baby boy in Baltimore, Md. On October 30, 2021, with dignity andgrace, an angel led him to a new life and land so famously promised; the place prepared by Jesus. Johnnie grew up with two siblings, Carrie Hamilton and the late Virginia Bobo. He graduated from Edmondson High School in 1964 and joined the United States Army in 1965. Johnnie loved music and had the distinct honor of traveling through Europe as a military saxophonist while serving. In 1969, Johnnie joined the Mass Transit Administration family (formally Baltimore Transit Company) where he was gainfully employed for thirty-five years. In 1966 Johnnie was blessed with the birth of his firstborn Lynette Bell, to his first marriage. Johnnie then married Allean Mckay Bell on February 18, 1971. They were blessed with a 50-year union. From this union three children were born; the eldest son Damion Cordell Bell (who preceded him in death), Kayla Terre Bell, and John Samuel Bell. Johnnie joined and was baptized at Perkins Square Baptist Church, as a young man. He dedicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Reverend Ward D Yerby. In 2007, he rededicated his life under the pastoral guidance of Pastor Richard Holland. In 2012, he joined Greater Works Kingdom Ministries under the prophetic leadership of Bishop Ronald D Willis Sr and Bishop Candice R Willis. He loved serving in ministry as a worship leader and singing praises to the Lord. Johnnie enjoyed many hobbies which included martial arts, boxing, bike riding, playing chess, bowling, karaoke, cooking, he was also an avid pool player. He was instrumental in organizing various local pool leagues and teaching amateur players the best techniques and skills he often used in pool tournaments weekly. Johnnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid wrestling fan of the World Wresting Entertainment, which he religiously watched the WWE wrestling matches and he also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens. He shared his hobbies and wisdom with many who knew him, which left long lasting memories to generations of children in his neighborhood, his family and many friends. Johnnie always treated people with politeness and kindness. He loved life and embraced challenges with tremendous faith and an open heart. Johnnie leaves to carry on his legacy his wife Allean, his children, Lynnette, Kayla and John. Four grandchildren, Isaiah, Derrand, Brooklyn, and Callie. He is also survived by one sister Carrie Hamilton, one brother-in-law Ali Amani, many cousins he loved dearly, nieces, nephews and a host of friends who all loved him.
