Jacqueline Marilyn Banks

JACQUELINE MARILYN BANKS, lovingly known as “Aunt Pooh” or “JB,” was born to the late Ethel “Merts” Banks and Thornton “Smokey” Banks on January 31, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. She departed this life on January 4, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Jacqueline received her high school diploma from the Baltimore City Public School System. She later furthered her education by attending Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) as well as Anne Arundel Community College, where she received her Associates degree. While attending BCCC, she met the love of her life Duane Banks, whom she later married in 2012, and remained married until his untimely passing in 2016. Jacqueline was employed at Textalease Corporation as a Help Desk Operator for 10 years prior to her employment at Parsons Paper Company, where she served as a Help Desk Supervisor until her retirement in 2011. Jacqueline, or Aunt Pooh, was known as the “fun aunt,” full of life and laughter, and always had a funny story to tell about she and her siblings growing up. Aunt Pooh was adored by the younger family members, and enjoyed family gatherings, singing and time spent with her grandchildren. She loved music of all genres, but especially enjoyed Earth Wind and Fire, The Parliament and Michael Franks. She is preceded in death by her husband Duane Banks, her parents Thornton and Ethel Banks, her son Lamont Adams, sisters Carolyn Lee, Mary Banks-Chesley and Viola Banks-Brown, and brothers Louis Johnson and Bernard Banks. She leaves to mourn: her daughter, Aaris Adams; son, Anthony “Tony” Adams (Aileen); daughtersin-law, Anne Sherwin-Adams and Aisha Jeffreys; eleven grandchildren,Travis (Justine), Darrin (Creshea), Aaron, Daaris, Darrick, Quinton, Adalia, Jade, Kitana, Dallas and Raven; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ichai and Harley; three siblings, Brenda Watson, Janice Allen and Dwight “Chucky” Banks (Anita); special niece, Tyra “Pinky” Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews and cousins. She also leaves two close cousins, Laverne Brown and Denise Powell; three BFFs, Vanesta Barnes, Tina Branson and Bonnie Crawford; and her longtime friend, Larry Juan Booth Jr
