Brandon Earl Fleming

BRANDON EARL FLEMING, son of Brunzo Earl Fleming and Edna D. Fleming, was born on Saturday, November 5, 1977 in Baltimore City, Maryland. Brandon departed from this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the tender age of 43 years old. Brandon finished each stage of his early childhood k-12 education and graduated with several honors from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in June 1995. While at Polytechnic Institute, he won an essay competition for Champion of Courage and performed before an audience and appeared in their commercial. Brandon won a competition for the best business plan and was awarded funding to start his T-shirts business at a Kiosk in Mondawmin Mall for several weeks. Brandon became involved with the School Year Abroad program through Polytechnic Institute where he won sponsorships and received donations from various organizations and non-profit supporters to study abroad in China from September to December 1994 at the age of 16 years old. This success appeared in two editions of The Baltimore Sun Newspaper. After completing his early childhood K-12 studies, Brandon won a four-year scholarship with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and studied there for two years; but later decided to continue his college studies with Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineer. Prior to receiving his master’s degree, Brandon pursued intermittent course studies with the University of San Francisco and Cornell University. Thereafter, Brandon earned his Master of Statistics with a concentration in Mathematics at UMBC in 2004. Later, while pursuing a Pharmaceutical Degree with the University of Maryland downtown campus, wherein he reached the level of attending his White Coat Ceremony, Brandon worked simultaneously as an Adjunct Professor with Catonsville Community College teaching Statistics. Along life’s journey, Brandon also earned credentials as a Paramedic, EMT, 911 Call Center Operator, and a CDL Driver with P&S Endorsements. Earlier in Brandon’s young life, he joined the Peace Corp and was stationed in the Arabic Country of Jordan. As a world traveler, Brandon visited such countries as Vietnam, Mongolia, India, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, West Indies, USA – East to West Coasts, South America, and of course China. Brandon was gainfully employed and heir to his family business, The Fleming Transportation Corporation, and was the Manager for the Information Technology and Quality Assurance Departments. Brandon was an avid reader and a faithful follower of the spiritual teachings and doctrines of Paramahansa Yogananda with the Self Realization Fellowship, and other religious denominations. He was affiliated with the New Life Evangelical Baptist Church where he worshiped and worked with the coordination of transportation for his church members. Brandon was an incredibly unique person. He had characteristic traits of being very humble and demonstrated acts of selfless devotion on numerous occasions. Brandon was relentless and committed to his passion for gaining knowledge and then sharing that knowledge with others. Brandon loved the art of learning. He had an unquenchable drive to be of service to others. When Brandon chose a cause, he dedicated himself to that cause. He was purpose driven and at times would deprive himself of basic needs. Brandon had a large heart and a wonderful sense of humor! He was a spiritually inclined and a cosmic social human being who made numerous friends with all ethnic and faith groups wherever he went and was a consummate humanitarian and an amazing human being who always demonstrated patience and great restraints. He leaves to mourn: his father, B. Earl Fleming; his mother Edna D. Fleming; his sister, Summer J. Fleming; his niece, Meadow S. Dorsey; and nephew, Dylan C. Dorsey; his grandfather, Willie Fleming, Sr., his godmother, Rev. Vandora Perry, and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and special friends.
