Barbara Jenean Bizzle

Trouble in my way, I have to cry sometimes I lay awake a night, but that's alright… because I know Jesus will fix it after while! When most of you hear this song, you often think of our beloved Barbara Jenean Bizzle. Her deep, soulful and anointed voice sings of her own life of joy, sorrow, pain, and happiness, but most of all her unwavering faith that "... Jesus will fix it after while! On August 11, 1940 God sent to this earth, His daughter to the late Adam "Dinky“ and Iona "Ona” Morrison Ramsey on St. Simons Island, GA. He purposed her to have a positive spiritual impact on the lives of many. Barbara Jenean Ramsey was the 8th of 11 children. Barbara attended Glynn County Public Schools, working as homemaker and hairdresser. Barbara was married to Tommy Bizzle. Barbara was the proud mother to her five children: Carolyn (Elder, Nelson A. Hines), Alan Ramsey (Maureen), James Ramsey, Deborah Staten and Lisa (Henry Wilson). Barbara joined the historic First African Baptist Church on St. Simons Island, GA. This was home to her large Christian family. Barbara faithfully sang in the choir every Sunday morning. She also sang in a local community group known as the Jordanaires, Later she joined St. Andrews Church of God in Christ on St. Simons Island, GA., God continued to perfect not only her walk with Him, but her gift as well. Singing was her joy Her favorite songs were “Trouble in My Way” and “Jesus…How I Love Calling Your Name” Barbara later joined Revival Center Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in Brunswick, GA under the leadership of Pastor Joel Longshore, where she continued to sing and be an humble servant of the most high God. When she relocated to Clinton, MD to live with her oldest daughter Carolyn and her family in February of 2008. Barbara attended New Hope Church of God In Christ in Upper Marlboro, MD with Pastor, Dr. Robert Anthony Veney and Mother Arlene Veney. Barbara was a virtuous woman of many talents, she could sing the church into glory; she played the scratchboard like no one else could! Most of all she was a prayer warrior chasing after God's on heart! Barbara cooked, cleaned, kept, and cared for everyone's children. And as for many of the women in the neighborhood, she kept your hair fried, dyed and laid to the side! Barbara loved to sing and dance. She loved to laugh and live life to the fullest. She mostly enjoyed being with her family, those grand and great-grandchildren, and her dear friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Iona and Adam, her sisters Ethel (Theodore), Marie (Roscoe Helton), Hannah (Neptune Whing), her twin Betty Jean Ramsey, two brothers Nathaniel Ramsey (Corrine), and James E. Ramsey (Lillian). Barbara is now survived by two sisters Lucille (Anderson McNear), Margaret Ramsey, three brothers Boisey Ramsey (Rosa) Lewis Ramsey, Earnest Ramsey (Veronica) 13 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren, a host of family, friends and saints.
