Audrey Ann Williams

Audrey Ann Williams (age 78) transitioned peacefully on Wednesday April 3,2024 with her family displaying expressions of love, appreciation and thanks to her. Ms. Williams was born on August 8,1945, in Forest City, North Carolina to the late Cornelius and Lucy Kate Camp. She was the sixth of eight children. Audrey was born and raised on her parent's one-hundred-acre farm. The family worked together seamlessly to maintain the land and crops. Weather permitting, they worked sunup to sundown to care for the fields. As a family, they enjoyed canning peaches, snapping peas and baking cakes. Audrey lived her childhood life in Forrest City ultimately graduating from, Carver High School in 1962. In an attempt to begin her young adult life, she followed her brothers, Dennis and Dolphus, to Baltimore, Maryland. Shortly after, she met and married Charles A. Lowry and from that union they had two daughters, Cordella (Corey) and April. After his passing, she later married Walter A. Williams who preceded her in death in January of 2023. Audrey worked several jobs before securing a career with the Social Security Administration. There she made lifetime friends which she held in high regards. She also received many accolades and rewards for her hard work and dedication. Her final job title was listed as a Benefit Earning Technician. After working forty-seven years. she retired in October of 2019 to enjoy a life of leisure. She enjoyed reading the word of God, cooking, walking, gardening, watching her Ravens play and spending time with her family. She adored and admired her loving grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, and Jordan. They were the joy of her life. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Forrest City. In her adulthood, she was a faithful and active member of Isaiah Baptist Church in Monkton, Maryland. For decades, she served as the secretary providing the church with weekly events and words of encouragement. She was a member of the senior choir and a chairwoman responsible for hosting several church events. Additionally, she was ordained as a Deacon. She was preceded in death by her five siblings Alveree Swayne, Dennis Camp, Dolphus Camp, Aretha Boyce, and Deaver Camp. Left to Cherish her memories are her loving daughters Cordella (Cory) Lowry Buie, April Hawkins (Jerome). Shamelya Harris (Goddaughter), three grandchildren Brandon Buie, Morgan Hawkins, and Jordan Buie, two sisters Alma Swayne, Arnita Camp Harrison, sister-in-law Dorothy Camp and Pearl Williams, brother-in-law Donald Lowry, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, church friends and family. .
